News for caretaker government

BNP to reject CG system switch.  Dhaka, May 27 (bdnews24.com)—A BNP policymaker has said any change to the caretaker government system will be unacceptable to them. Moudud Ahmed made his party 's stance on the issue clear at a discussion at the Diploma Engineers' Institution auditorium in Dhaka on Friday.

He also demanded that the incumbent Election Commission be dissolved and replaced with a new and 'impartial' one by consensus. The senior BNP leader, who was also an influential member of military strongman H M Ershad's cabinet, termed the present EC "submissive" and "controversial". BNP vice-president Abdullah Al Noman, joint secretary-general Mizanur Rahman Minu and JMP president Shyama Obayed also spoke in the discussion.
